Here we gooooo!!!

Listening to: [Jimmy eat world - For me this is heaven ]

What a tremendous week. I've never felt like i've done so much in sucha a short space of time.

It was Tuesday and all was "normal" until i had recieved a call from Sunny my cousin in sydney. The rollercoaster ride started from there and it has only been about 20 minutes i hopped off.

I knew something was up when Sunny asked "So, wanna do something tonight?" that indicated he was in melbourne. Thanks for the pre-landing call for preparations but everything i planned almost went straight out the window.

Sunny is a really good kid who is going through the stage of teenage angst and a lot of bad decisions. Understandable i thought because i went through the same.

Admitedly, i believe i was far too impressionable to even realise i did anything wrong at that age where Sunny came to seek my advice on trying to get the most out of a really tight situation. He has a good heart that is overlooked by his disappointed parents. I pray he stands his ground because the world is a really tough place especially when u are percieved to have something to prove to earn your keep(?).

Anyway, the much anticipated meeting of the minds, the inaugural gathering of 'comic writers society' went really well on Thurday night. It is an event that i have been planning for a while and i was glad to see it starting to take shape.

Thanks to Vito, Brendan, Sunny and Monin who attended.

At the Airstream Cafe, i laid out my plans about really coming together and leave out mudane tedius lifestyles to take on the challenge on answering to our artistic calling. I know it was a big ask but the group responded well and sunny listened.

I proposed the ultimate outlook as a commercial venture in the late future where we can establish ourselves as a different firm trying to capture what we see in our everyday life into something fictutious and fun. I've told them there is no limitation to their vision and their genre and i've discussed some technical issues.

We sat through the cold and threw ideas at each other. The overall ambience was positive and i was really glad to hear that some of them wanted to straight right away! I reminded them it'll take a lot of effort and time before we saw results and they understand that.

Feels like we're sailing into unchartered waters and it's just really anxious amd nerve-racking to see what's going to happen!

This week i hope to sort out our pilot comic and try to go through some more ideas of what pilot it might be because we get nitty gritty. Monin has pointed out organisation and formal roles are needed which i agree and i hope to draw some sort of conclusion on that issue this week. Very exciting time to be alive right now.

Saturday, Happy 21st Birthday to Stephanie Whiteside!!!!

What a blast! Boat party on the Yarra topped by a game of Laser Wars at Crown.
It was definately a memorable night (that turned into day by the time i got home) and i hope i can upload some photos from the night. Today i managed to get some tax homework done thanks to Jae. I think i even learned a thing or two :)

So my plans for this week, plan this weeks meeting of the minds, study study study!
Yosha!

-Jay
